This session will investigate the demographics of aging and cancer, chronological vs. biological age, and breast cancer as a model for treatment selection. Participants will delve into estimating life expectancy and assessing risk and benefits of treatment, as well as defining treatment goals and shared decision making.

In considering how we respond to these forces, we will explore concepts such as moral agency, moral injury, burnout, compassion fatigue, and wholeness. The session will include audience engagement and personal reflection on our own professional journeys, and introduction of several strategies and tools to help prepare for and respond to forces that shape us.
