Dear Colleagues,
As your regional oncology/hematology society serving the tri-state (VT/NH/ME) area, we recognize the incredibly difficult time this has been for patients and families facing cancer. We are also keenly aware of the challenges for oncology providers striving to deliver effective care amidst the added stress of a pandemic and economic crisis.
WE CAN HELP!
NNECOS provides a variety of initiatives to help you and your patients, including:
I. PATIENT FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE through two new philanthropic programs:
a. Cancer Community Support Grants to local charities in northern New England that support patients with cancer to fund the emergency needs of those patientsb. Grocery/Gas Cards provided directly to practices/clinics without an affiliated non-profit to support disbursement of the cancer community support grants
II. STAFF EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT through a grant program that facilitates procurement of outside speakers to help support staff education throughout this time of increased strain
III. PATIENT, FAMILY AND STAFF WELLNESS
a. Grants to fund patient-focused endeavors (e.g., Reiki, music) at your institution/practiceb. Grants to support clinician/staff wellness or stress-reducing activities (live or virtual) as well as activities for patients and staff that promote emotional recovery and foster overall resilience
We are here to help you! Information about these initiatives can be found on our website:
