 ASCO Seeks Feedback

NNECOS provides oncology professionals in Northern New England a means to bring voice to the challenges of oncology practice in our region on a national level. Please take a moment to let your voice be heard by providing feedback to the ASCO Board of Directors on the requested items below.

ASCO Board Seeks Your Feedback on
Six Issues that Will Impact the Future of Oncology

ASCO's Board of Directors has embarked upon a "far horizon" planning process to anticipate changes that will affect the health and growth of oncology. As part of this effort, they have identified six issues they believe will profoundly impact the practice of oncology in the future. The Board is asking oncology professionals to give feedback on these six issues by logging in with an ASCO.org member or guest account.

ASCOconnection.org includes:

Underwater Drugs – How Are You Coping?

ASCO would like to know if members in our society are dealing with underwater drugs. If so, please e-mail practice@asco.org with the drug name and amount, the purchase price, and whether or not the coinsurance is being billed to the patient. It would be helpful if providers could identify if there is a reason why the drug is underwater. For example, has it always been an underwater drug for the provider, has the supplier changed, or has there been an increase in the purchase price. Information and questions can be directed to practice@asco.org or Julia Tomkins/ Jessie Perkins in the Cancer Policy & Clinical Affairs Department at 571-483-1670.

Watch for future updates about the new State Affiliate Council, providing direct communication representing our region to the ASCO Board of Directors.
