Congressman Urges Colleagues to Protect Cancer Care from Debt Negotiations

26 Jul 2011 4:21 PM | Lori Aubrey (Administrator)

Representative Leonard Lance (R-N.J.) is circulating a Dear Colleague letter to the entire House of Representatives asking Members to join him in urging Speaker of the House John Boehner (R-Ohio) and Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) to abandon the $3 billion in cuts to Medicare Part B reimbursement for drugs and biologics proposed in the debt ceiling negotiations.

Please encourage your society members to visit the ACT Network and reach out to their representative asking them to sign on to the letter. A strong showing from Republican House members will really help support ASCO’s, and the coalition’s, efforts to stop these cuts. Please reach out specifically to Republican House members, asking them to sign on to the letter. Voting is expected to start Wednesday evening, so it is important to take action IMMEDIATELY!
